Why people not plan to buy a new smartphone this year 2016

Accenture - Ignite growth in consumer technology 

 The 2016 Accenture Digital Consumer survey for communications, media and technology companies polled 28,000 consumers in 28 countries on their use of consumer technology. The research indicates that consumer demand is sluggish across a number of categories from smartphones to tablets and laptops.Survey discovered why the market growth for traditional devices is upland and the new devices consumption is much slower than expected. 

The survey discovered the following: 

  • 40% of the consumers not planning to purchase a smartphone, because they are happy with their current device 
  • 26% say they recently purchased a new smartphone
  • 14%  have no budget to afford a new phone 
  • 4% don't find a 'wow' factor to attract them into new one.
